Well, I happen to be a big fan of the Guitar Hero series. The whole concept of playing your favorite songs, and requiring some skill and conditioning to play, but not the years of training it takes to get good enough to actually play them on a real guitar. Guitar Hero 2 was more than exceptional with perfect song selections like Message in a Bottle and Sweet Child O’ Mine. The advancement in difficulty made you feel that you had gained some skill, but it wasn’t impossible to make the leap. From Hard mode to Expert mode, I found was my biggest hump. But other than that minor detail, the game is all around good. But, why talk about Guitar Hero now? Well, because GH3 game out, silly. And I got it for my Nintendo Wii (Wii4everbizatch). It is basically more of the same, if you liked the 2nd one you’ll like this installment. Continuing with great songs ranging fr
om Before I Forget by Slipknot to Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, you’ll find at least a few songs that will tickle your fancy. I personally like the majority of the song list. The only, real new feature is the guitar battles. In career mode you battle off with famous guitarist such as Tom Morello and Slash by gaining “attacks” that substitute in for star power. The attacks vary from overcharging their amp to breaking their strings. It is a neat concept, but isn’t performed really well where it should of been, multiplayer. The pro-face off mode remains the best. The battle mode itself, is too lethal to your opponent. If you get a certain attack your other player will die far too easily and therefore making the mode, fairly boring. Overall this game gets a B for being just as good as it’s predecessor.
